Access to technology is crucial in today's digital world, yet many rural communities in Peru are left behind. With just 18.5% of rural homes having internet access compared to 75.1% in Lima, the digital divide is stark. The 2023 education census revealed a concerning ratio of 7 pupils per PC in secondary schools and 12 per PC in primary schools. The APMD initiative, led by the UK delivery team (Mace, Arup, Gleeds), is working to bridge this gap by setting up computer labs with internet access in two communities each year. By donating to this cause, you can help create brighter futures for these communities and empower them through digital literacy.
